Summary
We are looking for a talented and highly motivated lab manager to join the Ochre Bio Team in NYC on an exciting journey to support the development of advanced RNA medicines for one of the most pressing healthcare challenges of our time. 

Ochre’s New York site is a highly unique organ perfusion lab that deep phenotypes human livers perfused on machines, to study their responses to advanced RNA therapies. Deep phenotyping includes: tissue imaging, blood and tissue functional studies, single-cell sequencing, and precision-slice culture of liver biopsies. 

This pivotal role will ensure the smooth running and upkeep of the Ochre Bio lab in NYC, to  ensure that there are no roadblocks to science happening!  

This role will be based at Biolabs@NYU. 
Key Responsibilities
– Stock control, inventory, and ordering of supplies to ensure adequate supplies are in place for experimental procedures
– Organising and receiving shipments 
– Maintaining and developing laboratory health and safety policies
– Performing laboratory onboarding  for new laboratory staff 
– Ensuring operation of essential equipment, organising routine and breakdown equipment servicing and repairs
– Sample management
– Assist the perfusion team with liver supply logistics
– Maintain progress in personal and professional development to better domain, technical, and professional skills  
Qualifications & Experience
Required
– Substantial experience in lab management
– Enhanced critical thinking skills and proactiveness in identifying and addressing issues
– Strong organisational skills, with the ability to coordinate and prioritise tasks effectively

Desirable
– Start up Biotech experience

– A positive hands-on attitude to laboratory management
– Solutions-focussed and able to implement processes to enhance laboratory procedures 
– Excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to build trust and work collaboratively in a dynamic team
– Highly organised, with a methodical approach to work 
– Self-motivated and capable of working independently 
– Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently to tight deadlines
– IT literate in packages such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and GSuite Ability to learn quickly and open to do things they haven’t done before 
– Embracing change – this is a fast-growing start-up and change is inevitable!  

Desirable 
– Experience with sample management software
